Do you mean setting it as a default application for mailto links eg in your browser? This is part of the MIME specification[0] and should be an option for an installer script/package, otherwise users can do it on their own. Shipping a .desktop file in the repo would make this easier. The MIME type for mailto links should be `x-scheme-handler/mailto` though I haven't found it in any specification yet. No I meant the ability to "click" (select) a mailto link within an email which would open a pre-populated composition window. This would be generally beneficial, but I'm thinking about making email more interactive with my mail server, for creating dialogues etc.

The parts are already there, there's a function that creates drafts from mailto links and you can already open urls from e-mail bodies, so only a small amount of work needs to be done.
